Monroe piercing? Does it hurt and how long for healing?

Hi! I was wanting to get my monroe and my nose pierced. First, I have my belly button pierced and 3 piercings in my ear and one in my cartilage so I’m not new to piercings. However, the monroe really scares me because with my belly button it wasn’t in my face so I couldn’t see them piercing it and it happened and was over before I even knew it. If you have your monroe, was it painful and for how long? Also how long was ur healing process because i’m a waitress and will like to know how long to schedule off because i don’t want to be serving customers with a huge lip. :)

Hey I have a monroe and I love it. I asked about a million questions on yahoo answers before I got it, too, because I was afraid of the pain and worried about healing. It honestly hardly hurt me at all. It was a slight pinch that hurt less than getting my eyebrows waxed or something and it was very quick. I’ve heard though, that it hurts more if you have bigger lips because there’s more flesh to pierce (even though they don’t pierce the actual lip obviously so idk if that rumor holds true). However, I did take two ibuprofen an hour beforehand so that might’ve affected the pain factor. Healing took about two weeks I think? I don’t remember fully but it was quick and I didn’t really even have any significant swelling so I went to work the day after. The piercing looks kinda dumb for a few weeks though because they give you a longer post that sticks out to account for the swelling. ^^It looks shitty in the video because it sticks out but now I have a high quality stud in there and it fits right onto my face and I don’t have braces anymore so it looks better haha
