How long does it take for your cartilage piercing to heal?
i just got my cartilage pierced last Tuesday with a gun and i’ve been wondering how long i should keep it in for. It still hurts when i touch it and i’m always putting rubbing alcohol on it. I can twist and turn it and it doesn’t hurt, so yeah..how long?
Stop using rubbing alcohol and don’t use soap as suggested…just do sea salt soaks (1/4th of a teaspoon of non-iodized sea salt + 1 cup of hot water) twice a day for ten minutes each soak. Also, stop turning the jewelry…that can drag in crusties/bacteria and also tear the fistula that is trying to heal.
Cartilage piercings take around 4-6 months (sometimes longer depending on your body) to heal when done properly….which yours wasn’t. With the gun they can take around 9-12 months due to the trauma the gun causes.
