Chemical peels to remove acne scars = keloids?

I have 22 years old, Asian with a medium skin tone and beige. I have many, but mild acne scarring on one side of my cheek and the other side seem to form keloids or hypertrophic scars. I have a history of keloid formation especially piercings and my primary care doctor has mentioned that acne can occur. My question is would it be acceptable for me to have chemical treatments without cause keloids to possibly come out? I had a consultation in the spa, but jeez the lady who consulted me did not even know the answer. PLS can anyone. Help? Thanks!

Hypertrophic scars are extremely difficult to treat! Even keloids can be quite difficult. The people who make these types of scars are at risk of forming them anytime you have an injury or procedure that involves the integrity of the skin. Only a dermatologist would be able answer this question … after examination of the skin. Therefore, please see a dermatologist. In fact, I recommend that any treatment you receive will be made by a dermatologist, not a spa. You will have a greater likelihood of successful results and avoid the risk of formation of these scars more difficult.
