Tongue piercing aftercare?!?
I have my tongue pierced today and have been searching the Internet for social reintegration advise, but I'm confused because everywhere says different things! The person at the store told me that drilling for rinsing the mouth with diluted Listerine twice day, but I read that I should not because the alcohol content is too high … I also read that I use a mouthwash every 3 hours, but someone said that is overcleaning drilling. Can anyone tell me exactly what to wear and when, please? Thanks
This is what worked for me: When cool (the first few weeks) use a mouthwash without alcohol (Toms of Maine, Crest Pro Health, Biotene, etc) in the morning, evening, and after taking some food during the day. After the first few weeks, then be reduced to 3 times daily. And after the first 3 months, only twice a day, which is just good basic hygiene anyway. If you are a smoker or drinker to do my best to refrain from any of the first weeks. Refrain from kissing or oral sex to the first two weeks. If you do any of those things, then rinse with mouthwash after. The first couple of days while the swelling which can take ibuprofen and eating ice chips. Avoid spicy and fatty foods.
