Lip piercing cleaning help?

Okay so i got my lip done yesterday and my brother is friends with this guy.. Hes a professional don’t worry! Ha ha and he didn’t really tell me how to care for it properly he just told me to rinse my mouth out with listerine Antibacterial after i smoke/eat or drink soda.. And ive heard that salt water is good for cleaning. But i cant find sea salt only salt without iodine so im using that.. You think i should be clear? Im really paranoid about it getting infected because i like it Alto. and i don’t want to have to take it out ha ha

You don’t have to use Listerine. You just need to use any mouthwash that doesn’t have alcohol in it, or buy one that has been specifically formulated for oral piercings.
And yes, sea salt is good for cleaning oral piercings.

However, please do not worry so much about cleaning your piercing as there is a such thing as ‘over cleaning’ it. I suggest you should only clean it when you see any crust around/on it, just use a q-tip that has been dipped in salted water and wipe off the crust. Oh and don’t worry, having crust is normal; it just means it’s healing. A sign of infection would be pus or a foul smell coming from the piercing location.
