how soon can you change your nose ring after piercing?

many people have told me to switch out my nose ring one in awhile. which is something i would like to do. i got it pierced about two weeks ago. i was wondering when it is that i can change it out?

my piercer told me about 3 weeks, but my mom insisted that i waited 6 weeks just to be completely sure it was completely healed. and it was worth waiting the extra few weeks, because i’ve never ever had a problem or infection with my nose piercing. and it’s not true that you HAVE to switch your nose stud often, you can keep the same one in as long as you’d like (unless you have an allergic reaction or problem with that stud, then you should change it).
