Finger Piercing Rings

Would you ever get your hand pierced in order to be accepted by your peers?

Today, I saw a young woman who had a piercing in her right hand between her little finger and the ring finger. It was in the tiny bit of skin between those fingers. She was in the company of other women her age, all with the same piercing.
I feel I should describe this, maybe you can tell me what is the significance.
She worn a gold bracelet and a tiny chain was attached from the bracelet to the tiny ring which pierced the area between the two fingers.

So would you do this to be accepted in some club or not?
Do you realize you all have made history on Yahoo Answers?
You have all agreed that getting a piercing is not something you would do to be accepted by your peers.
You all have declared that you are individuals.

I am so proud of you all, I feel like a proud Mama Cat.

I would not do anything to be accepted by my peers. They can accept me the way I am or get the f- outta here.
