cartilage piercing infection or just irritated?

I got my cartilage pierced one week ago and everything was fine. I cleaned it twice a day with a sea salt water solution and it felt and looked great. On friday night i went to a concert and it got bumped quite a few times, and when i got home it was really itchy and red. Now it is red and swollen and warm to the touch. There is no pussing or discharge, just a bit swollen. I’ve been cleaning it with the sea salt solution 4 times a day now in case of an infection, but I want to make sure. I plan on going back to the piercer this week.

It’s just irritation. It’s normal. I have had my pierced for eight years, and every once in a while it gets irritated. Keep using the solution and don’t sleep on that ear or touch it other then when cleaning it. It should clear up soon. :]
