tongue piercing?

Hello, Im getting my tongue pierced soon but i want to ask people who have it pierced about the aftercare.
After the piercing, How long do i have to wait to have alcohol, give oral sex or have deep kisses? Any extra info from experience is welcome!
also, will it prevent me from playing sport (basketball)??

There was no rule about drinking alcohol after getting it pierced. In fact if I’m not mistaken there is alcohol in Listerine.
For oral sex and open mouth kisses it is 4 weeks.
There shouldn’t be any problem playing basketball.

When you get it pierced there is no pain, its more of a pressure. Mine didn’t bleed and mine swelled immediately. Eating was difficult but not impossible. I wouldn’t recommend getting it pierced with the intention of going to school or work the next day. Talking isn’t impossible but it does hurt if you do a lot of it. The barbell used is extra long to have room for the swelling. Two weeks after you get it pierced you should make an appointment with your piercer to get a shorter barbell.
I would also recommend choosing a barbell with plastic balls because you won’t chip your teeth as easily.
