How do you cure a lip ring infection?

I got my lip pierced at a piercing place. But I was making out with my boyfriend like the whole day I got it done, which I know was dumb. So I went to bed and woke up in the middle of the night to it being 3 times the size it should be, from being swollen. not much blood or puss was coming out of it. but I washed it wish antibacterial soap and water when I got home, rinsed with mouthwash and put neosporin on it. Well, I had to change the ring because the ball fell off. And, the ring came out. Anyway, I woke up in the middle of the night and the ring was squeezed so tight from it being swollen so i iced it and took it out. I washed it with the antibacterial soap and water and then rinsed and put neosporin on it again with the ring out. so now, how do I take care of it so it doesn’t get worse? Its still swollen when I got up today.
I already had to take out the ring. I just want to stop the soreness and swelling.

How you cleaned in the first place was completely wrong. Antibacterial soap is too harsh, and neosporin prevents air getting to it. If the wound is still open go to a pharmacy and get 0,9% Saline and Povidon-Iodine for mucous tissue (sorry don’t know the brand name), ask the pharmacist if you can’t find it. Rinse the wound with the Saline and add a few drops of the Iodine and leave it alone, do this once in the morning and once at night. Touching it and manipulating with it will only make it worse. Stop kissing until the infection is gone. If the wound is closed, then see if your body heals it on it’s own. If it doesn’t see a doctor.
